8 Days Kenya Classic Safari
This safari takes in 5 of the most picturesque
regions of Kenya. It also provides the perfect opportunity to spot
the big five “lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard”
and to compare some diverse awe-inspiring scenery and culture.
Day 1: Mombasa / Tsavo East
After breakfast depart for Tsavo national park, the largest in Kenya:
Elephant, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, gazelle, gerenuk, lion, ostrich,
dik-dik and other plains game, and hundreds of species of birds.
Arrive at Voi Safari lodge for lunch. Afternoon another photo safari.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Tsavo East / Tsavo West
Early morning game drive to watch the predators on the hunt. After
breakfast leave for Tsavo West, arriving at Ngulia Safari lodge
for lunch. After lunch another game drive. Common spots include
elephant, eland, bongo, zebra, buffalo, waterbuck, gazelle, giraffe,
impala and the accompanying predatory cats. We’ll also visit
the Rhino Sanctuary. Dinner and overnight in your lodge.
Day 3: Tsavo West / Amboseli
Early breakfast and drive to Mzima Springs. Here there’s an
underwater viewing platform, where you can observe crocodile, hippo
and tilapia. Continue to Amboseli, arriving in Amboseli Serena lodge
for lunch. Afternoon game drive in this magnificent park, right
on the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest in Africa. Dinner
and overnight in the lodge.
Day 4: Amboseli - Nairobi / Lake
Nakuru
Breakfast and route for Nairobi, arriving at the famous Nairobi
Carnivore restaurant for lunch, renowned for its succulent steaks
of game meat. Continue to Lake Nakuru, game spotting around the
lake to view its millions of seasonal pink flamingos and other aquatic
birds. Also visit the Rhino Sanctuary. Arrive in Lake Nakuru lodge
for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru / Masai Mara
Early breakfast and depart for the world-famous Masai Mara game
reserve, with photo safari en route. Arrive in Mara Hippo lodge
for lunch. Afternoon photo safari in one of East Africa’s
most famous reserves. The Mara consists of undulating hills and
great rolling grasslands that sustain some of the most varied wildlife
in Africa, if not the world. Lion, elephant, cheetah, giraffe, buffalo,
wildebeest, topi, bongo, gazelle, leopard and other plains game
abound, and hundreds of species of birds. Dinner and overnight at
your lodge.
Day 6: Masai Mara
The whole day is dedicated to game tracking. Masai Mara is the natural
extension of Serengeti national park in northern Tanzania, where
the annual migration (August to October) of millions of wildebeest,
zebra, etc. followed by their predators move freely between the
two parks. Option of a visit to a Masai Village or a hot-air balloon
ride that starts at 06.00 am and ends with a champagne breakfast
on the plains. What an unforgettable and exhilarating experience!
All meals and overnight at the lodge.
Day 7: Masai Mara / Lake Naivasha
After breakfast you drive to Lake Naivasha reaching in time for
lunch. The afternoon activities include boat riding to see the many
species of water birds with the possibility of spotting hippo. Tea,
dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Country Club.
Day 8 : Lake Naivasha / Nairobi
After breakfast we go birding with our resident ornithologist, where
over 400 species of birds have been recorded. Thereafter we drive
leisurely back to Nairobi enjoying the breathtaking landscapes of
the Great Rift Valley, arriving in Nairobi in time for lunch in
a city restaurant. Afternoon at leisure. Depending on your international
flight schedule, you will be transferred to Nairobi international
airport.
